Kitchen Renovation Over Time

We started our kitchen renovation 4.5 years ago. We saved money by working on projects by reusing what we could, doing everything ourselves, and renovating when we could afford it (or found sales). A kitchen renovation doesn't have to be a big gut and replace job!

Our kitchen after 4.5 years. Painted cabinets and walls, new flooring, new countertops (at a Black Friday sale), and appliances found on sale.

The backsplash (gold flecked) and cabinets (painted white) were kept to save money. We also replaced the window and painted all of the trim white. The chandelier is a painted Freecycle find.

We added the dishwasher and moved the cabinet that used to be there to the other end of the kitchen. We saved money by waiting 3 years to install the hardwood flooring.
