I love a good challenge!
And, Fayette Woman gave me one for January.
Fayette Woman is a local magazine that I have been writing craft articles for since November of 2012. Every month there is a theme. Sometimes it is easy to come up with a craft that fits the theme... other times, not so much!
The theme for January... Reboot.
So, I started thinking about the discarded old computers filling our attic and had my husband bring one down.
Have you ever looked inside a computer? The colors and patterns are quite beautiful. So, I decided to recycle the computer parts into a necklace.
Here's what I used to create this one of a kind necklace...
Computer RAM or Other Computer "Guts"
Tin Snips
Sandpaper
Metal Hole Punch
Jump Rings
Need Nose Pliers
Charms
Necklace Chain
I picked a part of the RAM that I want to use for the necklace and cut it using tin snips.
I sanded the edges and corners to make sure there were no sharp areas.
I used a punch that is made for punching holes in metal and added a hole at the top and the bottom of the cut piece of RAM. If you choose not to add a charm to the bottom of the necklace, then you will only need a hole at the top of the cut piece of RAM.
I opened up two jump rings using needle nose pliers and placed a jump ring through each hole.
I cut the chain to the desired length, added the RAM piece, then closed the chain with another jump ring. I then added a charm to the bottom jump ring.
Challenge complete! Give this easy project a try. And, while you're at it, make several because your friends will want of these unique necklaces! Visit my blog ArtsyVaVa for this and more fun projects.

I just got paid $6784 working off my laptop this month. And if you think that’s cool, my divorced friend has twin toddlers and made over $9k her first month. It feels so good making so much money when other people have to work for so much less. This is what I do... http://hyperurl.co/OnlineMediaWorks
