small offices are fine, but not in a bedroom that you are to sleep in. if you have room, the kitchen is actually better. you need a good night sleep to function well. your sub conscious will have you paying the bills. keep the bedroom your retreat.

It’s a small/medium size room that is attached to my bedroom. You can only access the “”bonus room” in our bedroom

Depending on what kind of office equipment you need you have a couple of options, right off the top of my head. If you need a desk top computer and a tower, fax, copier, etc., you can get one of those office armoires where you open it up pull out the desk and eveything is kept neatly behind closed doors when not in use. Or for a more inexpensive and simple solution you could just do like a 4ft IKEA or Pottery Barn desk top sitting on 1 or 2 filing cabinets. You could define your mini office with a bullition board on your desk wall a sconce lamp over your space, or a small screen separating your space.

I’m sorry that I confused you. I would like to change it from an office in a closet.... mostly for my shoes and purses and some of my husband stuff as well

Don't despair. I've been working in my bedroom for many years, and I sleep quite well. In our noisy, bustling household, my bedroom has been my only private space. It's best to find ways to separate the spaces visually if not quite physically. But at the same time, look for things that do double duty. Conserve space. Use wall space instead of floor space. For storage space, look for enclosed cabinets instead of open shelves because this reduces visual clutter. You might use painted instead of wood stained furniture for the office area to separate it visually. You could even use a tall screen to separate between the two areas. Be sure to use things that make you feel happy in both the sleeping space and working space. And good lighting! It's a must!

One thing I hate in my sleeping area is little bitty colored lights for every electronic device known to man. They can disturb your sleep even on a subconscious level. But these days an office has them on every device. I have plugged most devices into a single strip outlet, which I turn off at bedtime. But some things must run through the night. A few are shielded from view. For the most obnoxious ones, I cut a small piece of electrician's black tape to cover the offender. It can hide even the worst blinkers, but is easily removed, leaves no residue and can even be re-used. (I take some for hotels when I travel, too.)

try visiting the local goodwill or salvation army or craigslist for desk or table (that might need to be painted) that can be put next to the bed (if space is a problem) and then you have a night table and a desk. if you have room look for a low console or tv cabinet where you can store printers, faxes, routers, etc. google bedroom offices for other ideas. have fun looking for baskets, boxes, bins that can add storage places.

okay...desk, you can faux one by getting 2 file cabinets to hold a length of plywood or an old door that's flat paneled. a desk chair- adjustable one, floor mat if there is carpet down. your computer tower should not rest on a carpet, mine is setting on 12x 12 inch pieces- 2, of ceramic tiles. of course, the internet signal needs to get to you....you can get "repeaters" to increase your signal strength over distances. did that so i could read emails in the sewing room- 2 buildings over. book cases, not for books per say.... but for storage - computer print paper, extra ink, extra cables. don't forget about scratch paper. there are electric coolers that can act like mini fridges for a fraction of the price.. nice to take along in hot weather when the nearest grocer is 20 miles away.
