How to make achieve the finished bed look?

I love the finished look of a bed with the pillows nicely arranged on a bed but can’t figure out how to do it without headboard. I have 2 pillows laying flat behind the standing up pillows. Can someone tell me how to achieve a nicer looking bed?
You could always create a faux beadboard using a really shin plywood, batting and fabric. Or paint it. It would attach directly to the wall, not the bed, so you could get a more finished look

Try adding a body pillow behind all the pillows.
I'd put all the larger pillows standing up rather than the two against the wall flat. Then I'd turn the small square pillow on it's point.
First, prop the bed pillows up against the wall. Then place a third bed pillow with a decorative pillow cover in the center. Next, place decorative square pillows across the three as a second layer. Then finish a front row with smaller pillows in various shapes - to further finish the look, place a folded throw blanket across the bottom.
I would create a headboard first, but if that isn't in the cards, get 2-3 of the big Euro pillows to put behind your normal ones. I place four pillows behind the pillows I want propped up. The pillows are laying flat behind them. You don't have to have a headboard. I posted a picture to show you mine. Yes I have a headboard, but my pillows are not supported by it. Plus the pillows in the shams are real fat, very full which helps to make the pillows stand better. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I think a headboard is your answer. It makes it seem more finished, instead of just being a mattress in a room. The photo above shows how you could use a headboard and not completely block off the light from the window.
An easy way to get a head board effect would be to have two pieces of plywood fastened together; one vertical, one horizontal to go between mattress and springs on the bed. If you don't want that you could just wrap a board in a compatible fabric to your bed coverings and prop that up behind your pillows. Your bed actually looks nice, but I do understand your dilemma.
