I've used wide bias tape to make a channel along the back of the quilt, and then thread a pole through the channel and use brackets to hang on the wall. The pole can be closet rod wood that is stained and polyed. I like bamboo poles that you can get large ones at the garden store. I have also seen people use just flat firring strips to hold the quilt flatter to the wall. You can use one of the decorative metal rods. Be sure to use plastic anchors in the wall before screwing on the brackets to hold in place.

I did a quick search and there are so many different quilt stands available for what seems to be reasonable money. Were you looking for something special?

Heavy Duty Velcro...it will hold 10 lbs if Used in small amounts, I use it alot and it will def hold a quilt up!

I did this years ago. I bought a heavy duty pole from the hardware store along with wood brackets to hold the dowel. Then I put the quilt on it with enough of the material put over the dowel and I pinned it.

If you like the rustic look you can brace it between two pieces of barn wood and screw those into the wall. If you use a 2" piece of wood only put it about an inch up and screw above so you don't pierce the quilt

I would hang it the same as your would heavy drapes - use a heavy duty drapery rod and heavy mollies to anchor it into the wall.
