Does anyone know of a website with typical home structural drawings?

I want to remove a wall downstairs in my home without compromising the structural integrity of my high ranch on slab (no basement) home which was built in 1965. I have no structural drawings. It is a very typical high ranch here in Staten Island, NY.

You might be able to figure out the existing load-bearing walls by going into the attic and looking at how the house was framed. If in doubt hire a structural engineer to come out and look at it. The latter might be cheaper in the long run. House plans are not always followed, depending on the contractor, so any plans you purchase may not hold true for how the framework in your house was actually put in.
Do you know how to check if it is a weight bearing wall that you'd be removing? Someone will have to get into your attic/crawlspace to be sure.

You can remove any wall inside your home. If it is a load bearing wall, it will have to have a heavy beam running across where the wall was to hold the load (the rafters), and possibly a column or two to hold it up. You can tell if it's a load bearing wall by going into the attic and looking at the structure. Hire a house carpenter to tell you or go on-line and view u-tube videos.
