I have a hideous sink that is starting to rust

Is there any type of paint that will adhere to a ceramic/porcelain sink? I just can't replace it at the moment. And what can i do with this ugly formica vanity? Don't want to break the bank. Thanks!

You can paint the sink but I'd address the rust first by sanding it down and applying a sealer. I don't know how long this will work but it should hold you for a while. Try the link below to start your research. I would also use your search engine and youtube.com to learn more. It's impossible for one link to give you all of the tips and information you need if you haven't done this before.

Are you also asking about a countertop or cabinet of a vanity? Those can be painted too. Talk to the people in your hardware store for appropriate paint that they carry. You start with cleaning, roughing up with sandpaper, putting on a coat of primer, then painting - probably 2 coats. Wishing you the best. Good luck with your research!
Use a rust remover on the rust. Seal the area where the rust was. Then paint just that area with porcelain paint. (It comes in a little bottle). Do not paint the whole sink. You are asking for trouble when it starts to peel.

We used Rustoleum epoxy spray paint on this vintage sink and it worked well. There was a lot of prep/cleaning to do before hand but it's holding up very well.
