I stained glass type paint would be the most transparent option I can think of.
Or acrylic paints can be thinned for transparent -opaque nature as well using inappropriate liquefying flow medium.

I am not gathering the "I have this but want it to look like this" aspect. Clear lacquer to preserve the finish of brass and copper alloys is available at any paint store.
If the table you are showing us is all brass, chances are the finish is either from age or was chemically aged to oxidize the brass into that brown look. It is not paint.
I would avoid painting it as it might not be easy to remove should you want to in the future... a wax, tinted or not, might be the better way to go.
Don't know what color your going for but I would try a Minwax or General Finishes Gel Stain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN5pjACOSAk
I use a clear spray paint when I want to seal something but not change the color. It's Miracal clear spray paint (cheap). It comes in a spray paint can, and says cap indicates color. The cap is clear. I've used it for many years now on craft projects as a clear sealer.
No advice on painting it , but I was blown away when I saw the table. I had one almost exactly like that, that my dad got in Libya over 50 years ago. Sadly , I no longer have it.
Anyway , I used Brasso or TarnX on it occasionally for many years.
Thanks for the memory
