Nine Steps To Upcycle A Storage Box Using Paint

This is an upcycle of a storage box and the complete upcycle is with paint. It is always amazing what a coat of paint can do.
This is a project was completed using nothing but paint. I tried a similar project before using a different type of paint and it did not last as I thought it should. This time I am using a different paint and the results show the difference.
To begin this project, I cleaned it with regular rubbing alcohol to remove the dirt, grime and oil residue. That is all the prep work required with using Dixie Belle Chalk Paint.
This is the finished product. A total redo using nothing but paint.
The picture above shows the box with one coat of paint. I did add another coat once this dried thoroughly. The drying time was about 30 minutes.
This is the completed project with two coats of paint and glaze added to some of the raised areas. I decided not to sand but used the glaze to add depth to the paint.
I love the way it turned out and it is now more my style. I am leaning towards and loving the modern farmhouse French country decorating style and therefore, there are lots of upcycles to get done in our home. :)
My final step was to seal the paint job with Dixie Belle Clear Coat. I used two coats of sealant allowing to dry thoroughly between coats.
