The area over the doors

This space is in my living room but it is such a big EMPTY space. Would a shelf with wooden art statues work and add a large metal medaillon above the shelf be to much ? And should the shelf be dark color or same as wall.
I would choose one or the other
Hello Michelle' Lewis Diaz. I would Put some inspirational words, like those famous Love, Laugh, Live on a bright color or simply black they'll look beautiful. Maybe something about family gathers, Family & friends make my house a home. Just a thought I hope that helps. Happy New Years.
this space deserves a statement piece. Something large. Maybe a clock. Or a tapestry.
Hi there...Happy New Year. The photograph isn't too clear, however if it were my space..I would put a shelf ,the same width as the doors/window but not too high above the doors. The colours of your statues could determine the colour of your shelf, although I would tend to go for a darker shade of wood. There would still be plenty of space to mount your large medallion centred a few inches above statues. Hope this helps a little.
A picture would be nice, to help you out.
I think it will be better to hang a decorative fabric and far easier.

I finally stumbled upon this sign one day and it's perfect for our same problem. I tried shelves and didn't like them.
Maybe try something cute but nice that would work there. I think maybe a family picture or pictures of family or a drawing of a flower or the sky or something you like or love. I think that would look very nice on the wall.
