Whats the best way to cover popcorn ceilings?

We are currently doing one room at a time in our home - covering the ceilings with beadboard. This is our breakfast nook:

  Cindy - We would love to do the beadboard or a type of interlocking wood flooring BUT we have so many angles and ceiling levels that it is impossible and tradesmen gave us a huge price. Looks so great though! Thanks for your reply

  There are 6 inch strips that you can buy too from Armstrong that look great and are easy to install. Here is the link to their product, perhaps that will help. It's better but messy to remove the popcorn, but the alternative is to cover with sheetrock or bead board.

The best and cheapest way to get rid of your popcorn is not to cover it up but to remove it. The fastest way to remove it is to get a spray bottle and fill it with warm water and spray a section of it to get it wet and let that soak in a little while and then take a wide putty knife and scrap it off. It will come off easily and after it is all striped off come back and paint it with any color paint you want.
