Pine wood fence is turning green in some areas

bleach and scrub let dry then seal

Pressure wash it to remove the slime and mildew. If it is in the shade - cut back the trees and bushes to get more sunlight on the area to prevent regrowth in the future.

Most wood is treated for insects not mold or moss... pressure wash the fence to remove the green stuff... let the wood dry out completely and then seal... check with a LOCAL paint store and get a sealer that will repel mold and mildew

I would rub it down with vinegar.

I am with Shirley, vinegar will kill mold spores, bleach will not. When completely bone dry, then paint to seal.

Clean it with bleach water to try to get rid of the green and the obvious growth. Rinse it, then spray with vinegar. The vinegar will get rid of the spores, but the bleach may get rid of the green discoloration. Make sure it is completely dry before you seal the wood. Marine poly may do the trick since it is made to withstand the elements.

My fence has been green/ gray/ whatever for years .. but it is mostly still standing :) and covered with english ivy , some honeysuckle and akebia and one other vine that I hate. . Not to worry.

I think if it's green it is mostly actually algae, it is the black spots that are more likely to be mold. On the neighbor's painted ( or plasticized) white fence we been seeing quite a bit of (ugly ) green, - because we are on the north side of that fence and it is never is direct sunlight. We have wiped it down ( with rubber gloves) and some bleach. The bleach tends to disintegrate whatever you use to apply it so squirt and wipe may be the easiest.
