Old Radio/record player

I would say "give it to me" if I lived closer. Seriously, that is a beautiful piece. I would love to find one like that.

I agree that it does have a lot of style, particularily with the doors closed. Do not try to "re-do" it by altering the wood, as this is the feature that creates most of the time-period value.

What are the dimensions of the inside compartment? If you can spare the floor space that the legs take up, how about using it for an odd-shaped or bulky kitchen appliance that is not used everyday, such as a food processor or mixmaster, instead of the small appliance always out on the counter?

Maybe install a bunch of Lumenier candles on several levels and heights, I would get the ones with a remote.

Or you could do a fairy cabinet with a mini fairy world. I could also see a butterfly box with butterflies flying out the box and up the face. Let your imagination run wild.

You might also be able to find a little electric fireplace to fit in there or install a mini flat screen in there and get one of those fireplace dvds to play. Would require cutting a hole in back to put plug through.

I would hire a professional to help. ; ) I would remove the outdated record player and radio. Remove the front piece with the little doors. Cut that in half so you have two larger doors with a larger storage area behind it. It reminds me of a secretary style desk.

I wouldn't do anything to it. It is a magnificent piece of history that is in such great shape. I would love to have something like that myself.

It’s beautiful! Leave as is and use for storage and let it stand in room on its own as a piece of art.

Actually, I have one similar to this and I use it as a "telephone" cabinet. I have a cordless phone with charger and two wireless cell phone chargers along with a small lamp on top and store phone books and cell phone accessories in the cabinet. It maintains its "antique" look and remains functional.
