Last year I decided to renew my lease to my apartment. Only problem is I had to figure out a way to convert it from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom for me and my daughter. I decided to give her the bedroom and make the rest of the apartment into a studio layout to give us both a bedroom. I was super excited to finally give my 4 year old her own room and Big Girl Makeover. Check out how it came out!
This room makeover was sponsored by the amazing company Wallflora. They make beautiful removeable wallpaper you can peel and stick anywhere. My daughter's room theme was Tropical.
To keep the costs down on this makeover, I decided to upcycle all of my daughter's old furniture starting with her table and chair set. I spray painted the table and share legs white and gold.
I then covered the table top with a tropical leaf fabric that matched the wallpaper. I also applied a layer of Mod Podge to make it stain resistant.
I also spray painted an old TV stand in gold spray paint to turn it into a seating bench by her window.
I covered the bench with a pink table cloth that was the accent cover of her room.
I took some old picture frames I got form the thrift store, spray painted them gold and turned them into quote and string photos. My daughter loves pictures of her as a baby so I used those.
I decided to turn her old changing table into a bookshelf and covered the shelves with left over removeable wallpaper.
I decorated the rest of the room with clearance items I found at various stores.
