no....they need six to eight weeks before the fall sets in....since we are all in winter....store them for next year in a cool dark location in a brown paper bag

It all depends on the frost line at the time of planting. The weather changing does not necessarily mean you will not have more frost. My advice: Wait until early spring to plant your tulips. Read the label and be sure to dig down far enough to the recommended depth. Wishing you well.

I would think it would work just fine. There's still a lot more winter left for them to lay dormant.

Yes, I'd go ahead and plant. I think you'll have blooms this spring.

If you plant them later than recommended, they should still bloom, just maybe not in the spring. Then the following year they will adjust to their normal blooming period.

Plus they need that winter cold or they won't bloom either. If you can dig a hole go ahead and plant them. That's better for their health than keeping them in the freezer, fridge, or garage. They mold and rot at the drop of a hat if stored instead of planting..

It is January now. You can plant through February. Your tulips will be a little later than most and your neighbors will be jealous. Can you handle it? ☺️
