How would I cover a door that is never used?

I would like to cover over a door that leads outside in my older mobile home.
should I just get a sheet of paneling and fill in between with insulation?

If this is a second door do not cover it. It's code that there be two doors for entry and exit in case of an emergency situation.
Maybe you could purchase a bookshelf that would cover the door space.
Why not hang a heavy drape over the door way & park your [I would assume] bed in front of it for a more formal look? If it's in a dining room area: Hang a set of drapes & sheers in front of the doorway & another matching set over a set of windows in the same room for a balanced look? Depending on the weight of the drapes...will determine how much cold air is blocked out when the drapes are totally closed. I've known the house temperature to go up as much as 2 to 5 degrees by adding heavier drapes to a room...AND, it also keeps the heat OUT in summer!
Go to Home Depot and get a sheet of R-Tech insulating foam board. it comes in different thicknesses and starts at under $10 for half inch thick by 4‘ by 8’. It’s foam so secure with tape rather than nails. If the door is in the end of a hallway you can secure it with tension curtain rods and a curtain can be hung from the top rod.
How about contact paper?
Sometimes we have to think of ways of hiding something on the interior that we really don't want to have to keep seeing every day. The idea I gave is purely cosmetic & can be changed when you want to; but also helps keep the cold air out. You can double rod it [top & bottom] so that the blanketing factor is higher-you can part the curtain/drape in the middle so you still retain an emergency exit. Happy projecting!
