i might start with the rooms furthest from the doors and work your way out of the house. updating can be messy, but you may leave it a bit cleaner by not having to back track.

Start at the most important room, unless you have no experience! If that's the case - start at the least important and smallest room and start at the top and work down. If you carry on in this way, by the time you get to the biggest and most important room, you will be quite experienced at DIY.

Start with an easy project so you will be motivated when it’s done.

Does each room need updates like for example ceiling lights in the bathroom and flooring? If you can give me more information on what needs to be done then I can give you more assistance.

Start with simple, easy, fun, large visual or practical impact. In my experience waning interest in long or difficult projects is the danger.

Each project will call on you to learn new skills and I find new possibilities, that I would not have imagined earlier, present themselves .

When I was building (kind of the same thing) I gathered photos from magazines and the internet. I got all my inspiration from these. Counter tops, flooring, tiles, furniture....you name it and you can fine things on places like Pinterest.
