How to Build Raised Beds Using Pallets
Lumber yard or any construction supply house (not Home Depot or Lowes.) Google or look in the good old phone book.
treated wood is treated with chemicals and those will leach in the garden.
actually, cedar safe 15 sq ft red aromatic cedar wall plank kit at lowes dbq ia. 12 available no one says it cant be used for raised beds.
You may have to order the cedar at homedepot.com but they will ship it free.
I used treated lumber for my raised bed gardens since CCA treated lumber has not been sold since 2003. Some feel that you should not use any treated lumber if vegetable plants will come in contact because they think that the copper treatment will leach out but none of the experts are of that opinion. Many houses have copper water pipes and, especially if your water is slightly acidic, you will ingest far more copper by drinking the water.
on Google look up : cedar slabs for sale and the state you live. Good luck
Try your lumber store.
Do not under any circumstance use treated wood for your raised vegetable garden.
