Hello! Your local paint store or Loweโ€™s or Home Depot stores have all the color swatches necessary to make that kind of decision. Also, their associates are trained to assist you with any questions you may have about which type of paint to use on which type of material. Good luck!

I usually look on websites or catalogues of popular companies like Company Store, Pottery Barn, Wayfair, Giam, etc. to get ideas on what's popular for homes and current color trends. You can also use the annual color trends of paint companies as a guide, I always check the "color of the year for 2018, so you can pick colors that will go with wall paint as either a monochromatic shade or complimentary accent color...

I save painted wood projects on both this site and Pinterest. If I like it, I save it. I've found my comfort zone has expanded as I've tried new colors/combinations and ideas!

Remember it's only paint. It can be repainted if you hate it. Or you can lighten it or darken it by layering colors. Recently I thought I wanted a much bolder blue than I ended up liking. I played with the paint, layering it until I got what I wanted. I've stripped off paint that I put on more times than I want to remember. Take a leap of faith. You will learn from the process and your confidence will increase with each project. You've got this.
