Ideas for decor?

Newly purchased home has this TV room with these reclining couches and miniblinds over the windows for good viewing. Very functional, but I'm struggling with ideas on colors and decor to make it a warm, enjoyable space. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

movie posters....print ads for movies, a touch of sports posters.

Local movie theaters will give you leftover movie posters for free. The employees usually get first choice but customarily some great posters are left over. If you want posters for vintage movies, you can get copies for reasonable prices online. Type in Vinyage movie posters and hit search. Lots of choices out there. Find a poster of a favorite movie of each person in your family. Makes everyone feel special.

I would treat that area as a Theater, it is already separated by steps. Put some crown up high with hidden lighting for low light feel while watching movies. Wall sconces between each window. Shutters or Room Darkening blinds on the windows. Frame the TV like a theatre.

Take a look at some Home Theaters on Google Images or Bing Images you will get some great ideas.

It's masculine and dated at the moment -- (reads like a recently divorced 58 year old's bachelor pad). The good news is that warming it up won't require a big drain on your finances, since all it needs are a few thoughtful -- and tasteful -- accent pieces, earthy throws, and curtains to warm it up. In order to make it more modern, you can embrace its utilitarian aesthetic to create a more rustic/industrial/steampunk look. (Think deconstructed maps, clocks with exposed gears, and exposed Edison style vintage blubs with a warm yellow glow). Good luck!

You also do a bank of sheers over the whole wall with the windows, and maybe even on the corners of the opening with the stairs to make it more private and theater like.... http://www.brylanehome.com/home-Window.aspx?DeptId=15160

I would definitely do some LED strips that can be dimmed or colored...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFZBahypvmw you could do a moulding trim part way up the wall above the windows say a foot or two to disquise the LED strip

or do some tapestry curtains with piazz.... https://www.twinkledeals.com/wall-tapestry/wall-hanging-forest-print-tapestry/p_1045762.html

Would you like a more colorful room? You can always have diff lap robes on each chair, and colorful drapes., with a pretty scarf on the table. I would try these, and then for a final result, I would paint, if all else fails. Best wishes, J.

Great ideas going on here! I'd go a step further, like we did in our theater...We put in a riser [6" to 12" higher] with a small piece of carpet & set one set of recliners back & above the other set of recliners...basically stair-stepping them. Do your room like a long rectangle with your screen at the farthest end. Place a dark brown/maroon drape on either side of the screen area. You can actually PAINT your screen onto the wall using bright white flat paint & border it in black [turn on your projector to get the correct size needed]. Sconces are a plus, you need to have low light conditions so your eyes can re-adjust quickly after being flashed by images on the screen. Framed cork boards can be used between the windows for adding posters, which can be changed out periodically. Small occasional tables can be placed in nearby, but 'out of the way' places for snacks & drinks. ENJOY!

I like moving the screen to the end. I'll give it a try.

Great idea with the large curtain panels. All those little windows create a challenge.

Do you want it to look like a theater room or a nice relaxing place to watch tv. If you want the latter paint the walls so it looks more inviting. Just something light and airy, maybe a light creamy white or light gray. Put white shears or maybe opt for more fun colors in the windows. Hang some colorful pictures around. Even though it mighr not bw a theater room some aconces berween the windows might be nice to add more light to a darker room. If you want to open the blinda put some type of film on the windows that is supposed to prevent to prevent a glare in the tv. Do add colorful throws and pillows to the chairs or change out the chairs for a comfortable couch and loveseat. That is how envision the room. Thank you for reading this looong message.

I guess reading all these suggestions made me realize I just want a fun and chill space, not a "theater". Thank you for your help.
