Updating light switches near kitchen sink

Can I update the regular duplex toggle And double light switch to a safer unit without paying an electrician? Or will it require an electrician? It seems cut and dry but the switch plates are definitely different with the reset safety feature... I a little handy with some projects. I’m trying to update the plates to code And safety.

By "duplex toggle", do you mean a standard duplex outlet? You would like to replace with GFCI duplex outlet? This is a 3-station box with one outlet and two switches, correct? Yes, this is doable, but you can really do some damage if you don't follow safety procedures or don't put the wires back in the right place. In good conscience I cannot recommend that you do this yourself as your first foray into electrical house wiring. My recommendation would be that you hire a pro who will let you watch and answer questions. If it all makes sense then you could try the next one yourself.
You can do it yourself, but know what you are doing beforehand. My hubby changes out our switches, etc. for us, but he is also an electromechanical engineer by education. Make sure you flip the breaker so you don't get shocked. If you have a friend who knows how to do this, offer a good home cooked meal or baked goods or something he/she is into.

You should be able to see if they are the same colored wires. Watch a few U-tube videos to see how they do it.
Please, get an electrician. Water and electricity can be a lethal combination. This needs a ground. Might cost a couple of bucks, but it can save your life or possibly prevent an electrical fire.
