What color is the leather? What color is your floor? What is the lighting in the room, sunny, dark ? Are you working with anything else you already have, like art work, your grandmothers quilt or anything else you want to use in the room?

Any color that YOU like is okay for your home - especially if it goes with or brings out other colors in that room. If you are preparing it for sale that's a different story. Most realtors will suggest a neutral color in that case. Perhaps with an accent wall of a different color. I also recommend bring home several paint color sample strips and taping them on your wall to see what looks good in the daytime and at night. You can even purchase small sample bottles to do that with a larger area. That should help you decide. Every color will look different in your home compared to the store because of the lighting. So find a color that you love and go for it. I hope that helps. Wishing you the best

It is a matter of personal choice. If I had dark leather furniture, I think I would pick a warm color, like a parchment, or any light biege. Then add some bright accent colors. Then add your blue with a pretty painted desk or table and maybe a vase or throw!

BTW, with a more neutral wall color, you can go wild with an area rug filled with color to define your sitting area!! I have bought several things from Wayfiair and been very pleased.

If your furniture is dark go with light colors .If you have a dark rug go with light colors on the walls. If you have light rug dark furniture us a mix of light and dark on the walls. something that goes with furniture and drapes don't forget the drapes on the windows that's another thing to think about when buying paint and choosing colors. you want to transition in to the dining room pulling one color from one room in to the other but not making it look as if its the same room

Now its up to you to think about what you like to look at for a few years or so on your walls.Hope you post pictures after .

Can be cold, depending on if the room is North facing if South facing could be ok try a warmer blue colour towards the red spectrum but not too deep a blue

You should pick out a color that goes with other things you already have - curtains, pillows, knick-knacks, etc. This is the ratio that usually works well: your primary color (wall color) should be 60% of the color in the room. The next color (your furniture) should be about 30% of the total color in the room, with the remaining 10% should be a third/accent color.

I would start by finding one accessory (drapes or a pillow) that has the color of my furniture in it and other colors. Then take one of those other colors and use it to paint the walls. That way you have tied everything together.

Yes, a light blue would look really nice. Turquoise also goes with the brown. A few toss pillows and candles in light blue would be easy to add. An area rug with both colors would help tie it all together. Some images below to help inspire you. Have fun.

word of caution when choosing wall colors...take into consideration of lighting.Bus and a lot of other colors will p;ay differentyly based on lighting. I think you should look at color charts and look at them in your home.If you think you have found a color that you like buy samples and test them
