Walk around any flea market, thrift store or your parents garage and chances are you will find an old metal hardware organizer. I used to pass them up, not thinking twice about using them in my own home. That was until I found one at a local flea market for $3.00. The drawers were larger and I knew right away it would make the perfect faux card catalog.
First, I removed all the drawers and cleaned everything with hot soapy water. Once everything was dry I took the organizer outside and sprayed it with a few light coats of my favorite ORB spray paint.
While the spray paint was drying, I measured the drawer fronts, I cut the wood to size and then stained and attached the wood before adding the metal label holders.
