It’s tall and Spindly and I would like to do something to it to shorten it or make it fuller.

    I think it's a dracaena - maybe Marginata?

and nope, it's kinda like that, tall with a tuft.

I see them with several stalks braided together to make the 'tuft' look more full, but that's kinda what they are.

you 'could' grow a pothos or other climbing plant next to it, and use it as a trellis...

Yes, looks like a dracaena marginata. They can get all weird and curly.

You can also try to cut the top off and put it in water until some roots grow and then repot it in some soil. In the meantime, cut the stalk down short and continue watering it, make sure it's getting enough sunlight and it will resprout new leaves like the previous poster mentioned. I have this exact plant on my desk and it has dropped the bottom leaves due to lack of light. I am finding that this plant needs a good amount of light or it will be spindly.

Cut a piece off and let it root in water. It will develop new shoots and will become a new plant.

My Corn Plant flowered like that. I think it is in the same family as the Dracaena. The blossoms were so sticky sweet it was disgusting and gave me a headache. I had to lock it in another room.

I just cut my Dracaena and put the top back in the soil. Not only did the top part root and flourish, but the bottom part got new shoots and bushed out. ☺
