Do you mean in the spackling?

Sounds like a foundation problem. Have a carpenter check the the wood at the floor level...including the saddle. Sounds like weak support keeps pulling th area down as people walk through and over it.

drag the cracks out with a putty knife or a sharp tool, caulk smoothly with Dap Clear or Lexel, not latex or silicone, then spray with Cracks-Be-Gone, found at paint stores. Prime and paint with 2 coats. I had a customer that put a sprinkler under her house to keep the soil moist so that it would not shrink and cause the cracks in her sheetrock but covering them works better.

Yikes, a sprinkler under the house? I was going to say that cracks over doors are caused by the house settling. Wet soil would cause more settling, wouldn't it? Nora, how old is your house?

Nora, can you wallpaper/contact paper above the doorway? It could look decorative if it's the same width as the frame and goes straight up to the ceiling or moulding if you have it. Then you could add a thin vertical border (ribbon)along each side of the paper. of course, you might have to do more than one doorway to make it look right/intentional. Wallpaper will cover most cracks..How old is your house?
