Thank you for your advice, I’m not sure what you mean by ‘hot’, do you mean too strong?

Do they flower? maybe you need some bees to pollinate.

I have 2 recommendations for you: 1. Once buds appear, go out and lightly jiggle the branches. You can self-pollinate them this way. If bees and insects are not pollinating, you can do it yourself. Just do so very lightly. I do this with my tomato plants. Unpollinated plants will yield 20 - 25% of ability. Pollinated plants will yield 90 - 95% of ability. Big difference. And 2. Make a solution with 1 tablespoon Epson Salt and a gallon of water. Stir well. Pour solution on the soil at the base of your plants. Then water them real good. The extra water will help the roots receive the Epson Salt. This method puts enzymes back in to the soil. You can repeat once or twice a month. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

when organic matter rots it can produce warmth, a goodly bit. When the compost is done, it cools off,

As veggie matter decays it will give off a bit of warmth...quite warm.. in some instances. Very warm. Compost is done cooking when it’s cooled. Ie ground temp.it should have no smell at that point. Well, musty earthy ness but I call that a good stink.

when compost is being made the ah hem..ingredients start to break down..and it can be a thermal reaction, and yes it does also mean a bit to strong.
