You can, but I don't recommend it. If it's vinyl paper, clean with hot water & TSP, prime with Kilz2, then paint. Same procedure for old wall paneling. Works like a charm. Best of luck.

I've been doing wallpaper removal for over 50 years, and I can tell you its not very good odds you will like the end result, and then you will have to pay someone like me 3x the going rate to remove it cause its painted.

Paint can cause bubbles to form under the paper, and it looks like sh*t. Then when you try to remove it the solutions won't penetrate the paint making it a real bear to get off.

You can, but make sure of two things - first, that all seams are totally stuck down and not curling up at all. Second, use a primer coat on the wall paper before you paint since you need to not only cover the pattern well, but need to put down a paint layer that isn't slick or else the paint coat won't adhere permanently.

No, Either take the wallpaper off or sheet rock right over it. Odd are not in your favor for painting it.

You can but you will regret it! Been there, done that! Trust me on this!! Initial project was great - it is the subsequent update(s) that were the problem. I still have PTSD from painting over wallpaper!! DON'T DO IT!!!
