use 1/4 inch drywall over plaster, it's less messy, faster than tearing it off. Have a handy man or professional install it for you.

I wouldn't try to remove the plaster walls. This is a message you don't want to have to deal with. The best thing that I could recommend is to dy wall with 1/4 sheet rock . Seal it so you can paint it. That way if there is any holes or other damage. It will be covered.

Some people drywall over them if their damaged. Removing old lathe and plaster is horribly messy, usually easier to skim coat them. Why do you hate them? do you need to learn how to repair them?

Paint them? Wallpaper them? I do not understand what you are saying by "remove them". Are you meaning physically remove them?

  • You can put dry wall up over them.

You can always put up wallpaper or paint them a color of your choice. You can stencil them too.

Remove the lose plaster first. If a large chunk of plaster has lost grip from the lath behind it, remove the plaster and form rectangular patches before repair. Use repair mortar to cover the patches completely. You can also make use of wall tiles to cover the wall and avoid plaster damages anytime soon.
