A middle value tone of almost any hue will make the cabinets appear lighter and compliment the wood tones. What color is the floor? What color are the countertops and the backsplash?
what other colors such as the floor .countertop and furniture is in the room
I think the color you already have shows them off quite nicely. I would stick with cream or light beige colors. If you want a cooler color you could consider pale greens or blues. I would stay away from grey unless it's a VERY light shade, otherwise it'll make the kitchen look dark.
i would choose a light rust color myself?
See if any of these color pallets will be of a choice

My wall is a bronze color. It perfectly complements my cherry cabinetry!
I had cherry wood floors, I used a soft green through out my whole house. And had accent walls in bedrooms and kitchen. We had a white on ceiling baseboard doors. In my kitchen I used a soft yellow.
Tan or a light olive
