I painted my kitchen cabinets a year ago and they came out wonderful. I used General Finishes gel stain (3 coats) followed by a few coats of General Finishes gel in clear coat. I lightly sanded my cabinets before (but you don’t need to). It was my first time working with an oil based paint but I really liked it. It gave me time to work with it. I did one coat each day, let it dry overnight and applied a second coat The next day. I wore gloves, covered the floor and had some rags on hand. Pinterest has lots of examples of kitchen cabinets that have been painted with General Finishes gel stain. (by the way, I first tried Minwax on a door and it look horrible). Good luck.

I painted my kitchen cabinets with Behr Alkyd semi-gloss enamel. I primed with Binz first. They have held up well.

Rustoleum has several different products, lots of colors/finishes to choose from. https://www.rustoleum.com/transformations. My neighbor and my aunt both used this, and I like both of their results.

Any good quality paint is fine. Just use semi-gloss or eggshell finish not flat. The most important step is the prep work. Cabinets must be free of grease. Use liquid sandpaper to make the finish tacky. There is no need to sand unless you have some bad areas. Follow the directions on the brand of liquid sandpaper and use plenty of it. Then use a stain blocking primer-2 coats. If the primer doesn't feel smooth after the second coat, very lightly sand any areas that feel rough. Wipe away any dust with a barely damp cloth and then paint. Use 2-3 thin coats of paint instead of one thick coat. You will get a much better result.
