Can I convert a pleated bed skirt into split corner?

I found one I love but it's a pleated corner and I need a split corner. I suppose I could just use sharp scissors and cut up the pleats but I don't want it to look bad.

If you decide to cut the pleats in the corners, just sew a small finished hem on the cut portions and no one will ever know the difference.
Yes, you can cut and then turn and hem the split so the bed skirt can go around posts.
Yes, cut a slit in the center of the pleats and if you don't sew, use fusible webbing to make a hem.

Thanks everyone.. The "sewing" part was what I was trying to avoid.. But I think if I cut it just right, I could even use stitch witchery. Thanks!
