How do you get rid of the smell of smoke in the house?

Question

We decided to light a fire in the fireplace a few days ago, not knowing that there was a problem with the damper. Some smoke went up but a lot of it came into the house. We have since fixed the problem with the flue, but the smell is still quite strong. I have tried using Febreze, and also simmered orange peels and cinnamon sticks, but it's not enough. I would love to just open all our windows, but it's too cold. Any suggestions?

can't think of any but turning on the fans. time will take care of it. you could call a company that specializes in cleaning up fire damage. they may have the answer for you.

Its called an ozone machine you have to rent it and leave for a few hours and take any pets with you bit it works for all kinds of oder
