I was lucky enough to obtain this piece, it has a mirror that was removed for transportation.
Great bones but this lady needed some reconstruction work as her veneer was beginning to chip and fade. I cleaned and fixed her up and prepped her for her makeover
My go-to fix is usually a raised stencil. I love this stencil and used drywalll compound. I left a circle in the middle so I could add an image transfer
Here it is painted in a custom colour and dry brushed with white to highlight the raised details.
Using a laser copy of a watercolour painting I did some time ago, it was reduced in size to fit in the circle. I knew as soon as I made the beautiful lavender shade that this image would be perfect. I used a water-based product to transfer the image after painting the circle white. I LOVE it. A digital download of this painting is available here
I wasn't done with this beauty yet. I wanted to make her look fabulous and so applied gold leaf randomly on the edge
and on the legs
and on the mirror uprights too. I love how it looks like it has peeled away over the years
After 3 coats of a satin top coat, this lady is ready to be shown to the world. I am thrilled with the outcome.

Here is a close up of the stencil
I added the stencil to the moulding on the top drawers

Where did you find the stencil? Love this. Thanks

I’m interested in how you decorate the rest of the room. How about your other wood pieces nearby? Painted or stained. Same color or different colors?
