Frame and Add a Shelf to a Builder Grade Mirror!

We're in the process of giving our bathroom an update on a very small budget. Instead of replacing our very large bathroom mirror, we chose to frame it and give it some character by adding a shelf.
My husband built the shelf to fit the space. We tiled right on top of the existing tile backsplash with mosaic tile, and tied it all together with crown molding.
The new vanity lights are from Overstock, and we set them on top of the new molding to give a more built-in appearance. The photo below is the before photo of the vanity and mirror. The vanity also got a makeover as well as the bathtub. To see the entire makeover, please visit my blog www.thesavvystagerinc.com
The cabinet started out as a light honey oak. I painted the cabinet white and added nice nickel hardware. The bathtub also got an update as well as a board and batten wall treatment.

Hi! This came out great! Is the counter top formica or the oak? Did your husband just glue the wood frame and the cabinet to the existing mirror? What material did he use for the cabinet?

Can you share the plans or where to purchase the center storage cabinet on top of the counter?

Excellent job... I did almost the same thing and it turned out better than I expected... total cost for my project was like $18.00. I used an unwanted triple dresser mirror, removed the glass and glued the frame right to the mirror. TIP: paint the backside of the frame otherwise you will see the unpainted wood in your mirror~! This site rocks!!
