This fabric banner is a quick and fun craft that your kids can help you make. I headed to my local craft store and picked up a half-dozen, fat quarters in my team’s colors from the fabric section. A fat quarter is a pre-cut piece of fabric. It is taken from one yard of fabric cut in half lengthwise, and then in half width-wise. The dimensions are approximately 18″ x 22″ (46cm x 56cm). They are great for those times when you only need a little bit of fabric. No waiting in line at the cutting counter required.
Cut the strips of fabric into 1-2 inch wide sections. If you are using fat quarter fabric they will be approximately 18 inches long.
Starting in the middle of the rope, tie the fabric pieces on.
Fold the piece of fabric in half
Take the top loop and place it under the rope. Grab the free ends and pull them around the rope and through the top loop.
Pull to secure.
Work from the middle, alternating on each side to make sure the banner is balanced
Hang up above your table spread for your guests to admire.
Make it on your team's colors an hang it above your game day table spread.
