How to remove fabric softener from car and window

I've seen several site suggesting using fabric softener sheets to get bugs off my car and the windshield. It gets them off, but leaves a milky residue. How do I get THAT off now??

My guess would be some liquid soap like dawn or Ajax soap and water and elbow grease. I'm sorry. Best of luck

Thanks for the suggestions! I've tried glass cleaners, and dish soap, even going through the car wash with no luck. Guess I need to try a little harder!

was it ever specified to use a fresh dryer sheet or a new one to do the windows? I’ve always assumed it was a used dryer sheet...

The one I read about cars said to use a new sheet. I've seen others that said to use used sheets for things like blinds. I won't be using new ones on my car anymore!

I suggest using the dryer sheets before washing the vehicle, then

just wash the car/Windows as usual! It should come right off!

    Hope this helps!😀

Yeah, I won't be using new dryer sheets for anything but the dryer anymore. I hope to use some of the suggestions here when it gets a little warmer. Thanks!

*if you use dish washing liquid it will strip the wax from the car! Regular car washing soap will do it!!

A solution of vinegar and water should take care of this.

You should be using a used dryer sheet not a fresh one.Wash the windows with white vinegar and water 50/50 and add a dab of dis soap

Ajax soap cuts through slick grease......I use it to clean my tub and it take no time at all . Just saying. It's a good tip I pro ise. And very very economical!
