How do you get the doggie smell out of a Dyson vacuum? Even after cleaning the dirt trap, it still smells. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Put a dryer sheet in the vacuum? Or maybe vacuum up some baking soda and let it sit overnight, then empty. Baking soda can absorb a lot of odor.

For all my vacuum cleaners (we have 2 dogs), big and small, I brush out the dirt on the filters and air out in the sun. You can spray a little Febreeze if your filter is made of fabric.

I clean my hose with hot water and vinegar in a bucket. I then hang it outside to drip all the water out of it; spray the inside of the dirt barrel with vinegar and water and wipe clean; clean the brushes and again spray and wipe and clean the sponge filter in hot water and vinegar. Helps a lot.

Have you considered calling Dyson customer support?

FWIW -We have had exceptional experience with both telephone consultation and a return unit servicing resolution They had attempted to repair a loose part twice and ended up sending us a brand new vacuum.

Our Dyson Animal had a 5 year warranty, please remember this for future problems and concerns.
