This dresser was found in the dumpster by my husband! It was actually in pieces when he found it! We think it dates back to the early 1900s. In any case I had painted it white a while ago but it needed something it needed color and a little pizzazz. That's when I busted out my painting tool box!
Here's the before! While beautiful it needed some character.
I first put a coat of my Himalayan seaspell sea paint on it.
I then lightly dipped my brush into my mermaid mint and went over the entire piece gently.
As you can see I just lightly went over the piece in spots..
I then brought in a little bit of a darker color for some depth with my mermaid Mist! I did the same thing I lightly dipped and tapped my chippy brush into the cap where I had a little bit of paint put in there. Then went over the entire piece just like the steps above.
In between I like to blend using my sanding block. It just lately Blends the colors together.
Another trick I was taught by the awesome people at seaspell Sea paint is to use a baby wipe to gently blend everything together so I went over the entire piece lightly with my baby wipe.
My last and final coat of paint is a light beach wash that just ties everything in beautifully! I lightly dipped my chippy brush and went over the entire piece.
After the piece was done Spencer and I both went over it with our sander and gave it a really rustic worn look. We actually preferred the beat up Rusty look. I know crazy right. We actually paint the piece to make it look new and then rough it up to make it look old hahahah.
Here is the after pictures! I do need to get some Coastal looking knobs but I couldn't wait to post it.
I absolutely love this piece! I will post my affiliate link below to the Seaspell Sea paint that I use. As always feel free to check us out on Facebook at Sierra Stars furniture and gifts. 😍😘
