How can I remove a magnetic door knocker from a metal door?
The magnet in the knocker has "welded" to the door and seems impossible to remove. I have to paint the door so if the paint is damaged its not a problem.
The strips need to be applied in the warm weather so that the metal is not cold. The warmth makes the glue adhere better.
I would use the metal strip and rubber gasket on the door frame.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJyc3e_EgL0
I don't know if you have a Lowes close to you but I just purchased a "flat profile door jam weather strip kit". It is aluminum with holes for the screws and rubber strip. It has 2 sides and 1 for top of door. It has Philip screws that screw onto the side of your door jam and the round rubber pushes against your door. Don't put it too tight, you can adjust as you go and it works. It is 20 something dollars but it will stay in place. I would give you the item number but my husband has the receipt in his wallet
Look into magnetic weather strip for steel doors.
#67215 Door seal rigid alum $10.97. I believe this is the correct one.
you would have to use a paint primer and paint the edge your putting the strips on, after letting the paint to dry first eric
