Paint the door bright color, and hang a welcome sign on it, install a door bell or door knocker, add a light, and maybe a mailbox so it looks like the front door. You would also add an awning above to keep them dry. You could also fence in the front door and make a gate across the sidewalk.

I put a sign on my front door to please go to the side door. I also tell people to go to the side door if they are coming over. It is easier to control our dogs if they come in the side door. Hubbies recliner kind of blocks the front doorway and makes it a tight squeeze to get in. The front door is also a pain to unlock, it likes to stick.

I'd put planters or a window box across the front stairs showing that it is obviously not used; you may want to check with your insurance about blocking exits, though, in case of fire.

Put big twin pots at each side of side door, maybe a wreath at this door, a decorator's flag or big house numbers...just make it look like the used door...

Maybe make an extension of the driveway material that curves to the side door? Remove any such extension that leads to the front door, Isolate the front door and exaggerate the side door. You can do this with paint, landscaping, an arbor over the side door etc.
