What plants & vegetables can be grown that are safe for dogs

I have 6 dogs at my house daily, Rhodesian Ridgeback to a chihuahua mix but mine are all trained and do not eat what we grow. Only exception is one bowl of thyme I had to give up to the chihuahua mix, she loves to lay in it. At least she smells pretty! You can grow almost anything. Be careful with the tomatoes though so find a place that works for the tomatoes but away from the dog that eats anything. Here are some great links. Holler if you have any questions.

If you will be using buckets, either put a few holes in the bottom for drainage, or put some rocks in the bottom. Cover the rocks with a layer of newspaper. Then add your soil and then put the plants in. The tomatoes will need cages and the cucumbers will need something to climb on. Best potting mix: soil, manure and sand. Equal parts of all. We have four dogs, a hybrid cat, a conure and a blue and gold macaw. I have never had a problem with any of them chewing on plants indoors or outdoors. I have more trouble with them getting stomped to death outside. That is why I now have an eight foot fence around my veggie garden. Lost half of my green beans and carrots one year when I found out the two biggest dogs could flatfoot jump my four foot fence to go after a squirrel running the far fence line. There is a good chance they will leave your plants alone. If they seem to be going after them, spray them with hot sauce and they may leave them alone after they get a good whiff or taste of it.

Cucumbers should be fine for you pets. You might want to put a cage around the tomatoes to prevent them from chewing on the leaves/stems which can be toxic.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not worried about my Chi jumping. She is 9 1/2 years old and weighs @ 8 lbs. I know some plants are dangerous for pets.
