It's wood. Very sturdy and straight. Help!!! I love my yard, and need ideas. Taking it down is not an option.

If you wish to disguise it plant bushes along the sides. Azaleas or hedge if you have some sun, hydrangeas if it is in shade. At the lower entrance to the ramp take your plantings out to each side in a curve, like everything is part of a grand, green, and easy entry.

Love this idea thanks!! As soon as it starts warming up in planning on working on solution, and this sounds like a great way to incorporate it all.

Incorporate it into your design. Make it seem like a bridge and not a handicap ramp. Plant flowers on the sides to camoflag us it.

Great idea as that's kinda what I had in mind. I want more of a bridge look. Thanks for helping.

We've had to deal with this at our house, as well. First, I'd paint it to match the trim on the house, using a deck paint that will stand up to the traffic. Then consider how to make it blend in and look like it belongs there...maybe add rails to match the fence around the yard, or plants along the perimeter following the planting scheme you have elsewhere in the yard. Consider a lattice arbor with vines (wisteria, jasmine?) over the top to shelter it and further define it as an integral part of the area. Good luck!

I understand that you cannot take it down due to needing to use it , but can it be moved to a back door? If not , then I agree with the other comments. Dress up pretty flower beds or shrubbery around it to make it blend. I also like the idea about painting it to match the house. Also , plant a pretty tree in the yard with a flower bed around it. A pretty focal point in the yard will take the focus off of the ramp. Brightly colored knock out roses along the front of the ramp will hide most of it. If they're kept dead headed and fertilized on a regular basis they get to be big and full. The only thing that people driving by will notice are how well those roses look! My bushes are about 5 feet in diameter and 4-5 feet high. Miracle Grow is the fertilizer that I use. Keep the dead blooms and any dead foliage cut off. Good luck! I can see how nice it looks already.
