Looking for suggestion for a botched roof job. I got the leaks fixed b

4 years ago I had a new roof put on. The company destroyed the chimney and I had to have it removed. It's damaged the inside of chimney in my living room. I want to repair this myself because I'm a disabled nurse and don't have much money. Please ,any suggestions are appreciated!!

i had a sunroom installed by four seasons solar sheild out of altoona pa, and they put on a room that leaks so bad i had to replace the floor, no help from them, so i applied to my homeowners for the flooding that occurred during a really bad rain and thankfully they helped me pay for my floor, that is my only recommendation, since no one is responsible for their work anymore. hopefully this will help a little

This happened in 2014 and after 4 different roofers worked on the chimney I finally got the leak fixed. I'm going to try patching it up but don't know where too start. I'm 60 years old and have disabilities but still believe I can patch it up unless it starts too crumble apart which is already happening. Thanks for your input am stumped on this mess they left me, ☹😬😵

That is a lot of damage and a big job for a DIY. The roofers that caused the damage should be responsible. I agree with Marsha. I would try to put it through homeowners insurance.

If you hired someone and they caused damage they are responsible to fix there boo boos.

Tell the roofers since they made the mess they are responsible for fixing the problem. Talk to a lawyer if need be and report them to the better business bureau.

I know I should of but I can't turn it in for 2 reasons. First if all I have a $1000 deductible. Second, starting Thanksgiving all my appliances started burning up, my stove burst into flames, dishwasher, washer, microwave, had too have my furnace worked on 4 times. As it turned out the problem was a loose negative ground connection outside of my house. Power company accepted responsibility but I'd turned in a claim on it. Im just really worried about painting. I don't know where too start. Thanks guys for some input!!! 😬

Can you find a handy man in your community that would paint it cheaply for you? Do you go to church....could you inquire about help from them or would the youth want to make some money? Just decide in advance how much you could afford to pay them. Our church goes out once a year and helps people with painting and fixing up their houses, free of charge. Sorry you had so much expense at this time....We had to have a new roof, new furnace, new dryer, and new refrigerator.....replaced because of old age. Roof was paid by insurance company but Ouch!

Pat's advice is the next step. Try Habitat for Humaity. Look for any local community organizations that can help. You may try your village hall and see if they can recommend someone. Good Luck.

I hate to say it but looking at the picture it is going to take more than paint to repair the damage. The sheetrock on the ceiling should be replaced as sheetrock looks damaged and also because sheetrock looks like it has been soaked thru that black mold could be a problem. Damage to ceiling looks like it goes all the way across the top of the fire place area. Sorry to be such a doom and gloom person but there is more work to be checked and done that just a new paint job. New paint will just bubble and peel if it does not have a good foundation to stick to.

Yes, I know your right. It was fixed once but I was unaware it was leaking and this is what happened (bubbling & chipping off) after it being repaired. I inherited the house. The roofer was my moms brother in law and she didn't want to make waves(she was 73). She's passed and his company dissolved and I'm stuck with this mess. I'm beside myself and was hoping you guys could give me a simple solution. Thanks for your input. I really do appreciate it!
