At the end of this tutorial, you will have a cute little heart shaped trinket dish perfect for corraling your jewelry, loose change or little office supplies!
Start with your materials! You will need air dry clay, a rounded vase or dish (to form your trinket dish as it dries), a stamp and a butter or exacto knife. Optional - you will also need a gold sharpie and some watercolors to decorate your dish when it's done drying.
Tip : It's easier to work with air dry clay if you put lotion on your hands. It's not as sticky this way. Start by rolling out your clay. Use your knife to cut it into a heart shape.
Use your stamp to imprint the edges of your heart.
Carefully take your imprinted heart and lay it over your form. I used a small vase. I rounded the edges the way I wanted and left it like this to dry for 48 hours.
After 48 hours - I got out my watercolors and a gold metallic sharpie and painted on the a pink color. Feel free to be creative and use whatever color you want here.
I used a gold metallic sharpie to outline the raw edges of the heart dish. It gives it a more finished look.
All done! Now I have a cute and pretty little spot to put my rings and earrings when need be.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and enjoy your new heart dish! icon
