open a box of Baking soda... put under the sink, close the doors, leave a few days and remove; you can also use PLAIN charcoal briquettes -- not the kind with 'lighter fluid' or 'easy start' added -- just plain -- put on just put a handful under the sink. Remove/change out until the scent is gone

Find a fabric softener scent you like and make your own Fabreeze using that.

If you want to use a spray under the sink, get something that will smell better, like one of the orange or lemon sprays that are out there.

The one for allergies is really mild and works well. Hubby has COPD and son has situational asthma, so can't use any of the Febreeze but the allergy one. It will also kill birds and we have a macaw in the basement and a conure on the main floor, so any scent has to be really mild.

Wipe down the area under the sink with dish soap and warm water, then open boxes of baking soda to absorb and remaining scent. You can also use clay kitty litter or charcoal (the plain kind) in a pan-an aluminum 1 from the dollar store.

Deal with the cause of the smell, then that should remedy all! Maybe test the smell of things befor you buy if you are sensitive.
