Make multiple pom poms at one time, easily? Yes! It is quick and simple to do. What would you use pom poms for? Decor? Pet toys?
Watch our video tutorial for all the steps you need to create your own darling pom poms.
To start, you'll need a 1x4 board. We're going to make a homemade loom. Mine is 26 inches or so. Drill a 1/2 hole in both ends of the board.
Now glue and insert 1/2 inch dowels. We like to use this brand of glue because it bonds quickly. Watch the video for a demo.
Now that the glue is dry, gather the yarn you want and tie a loose knot on the end of your yarn. Attach to your homemade loom. Now begin to wrap your yarn around the dowels.
Depending on how big or thick you want your pom poms, you'll want to wrap accordingly. Then, tie a loose knot at the other end.
Time for an awesome trick! Use zip ties to section off your pom poms. Start about 1 inch from the ends and space about 2 inches between.
Cut the top half of the loops you've created and then go back to finish cutting.
As you cut the bottom half of the loops, your pom poms come free! Now, all you need to do is trim them up with scissors and you're done! How simple!
In no time at all, you have a bunch of pom poms. Make sure to visit our blog for other awesome tutorials and ideas!
