I live in a mountain and have fenced the yard with a fence 8 ft tall attached to 2.5 inch pipes. But I feel anyone can get inside without much trouble.

Without too much trouble you could include a string of electric wire on the top of your fence, or even around the lower part, or put barbed wire strings on the top like a neighbor or ours did because the coyotes could get up and over the fence until he added 3 strings of barbed wire at an angle leaning out. Also, you could include a computer connected motion lights and cameras to monitor the property. Hope this helps.

  • Depending on the size of your property, I would install motion lights. Anyplace that is well lit deters unsavory characters.

Motion sensors are a great idea. Also, Best thing you could do to increase security is to install cameras at the corners of your home. They can be connected to your phone so that you can look at the footage even when you’re not at home. My husband and I installed them at my mother’s home and when her marigolds were disappearing from her front yard, she thought neighborhood kids were pranking her. When we looked at the footage from the cameras, we found that deer were actually munching on her flowers in the middle of the night. Good luck!

easiest cheapest deterrent to people and varmints is an electric fence. SO cheap to install....and a nice surprise to all who enter without your welcome.
