Rose Stained Buffet

Wildflowers & Pistols
by Wildflowers & Pistols
This was certainly a beautiful buffet 'as is' but it was about to be turned into something even more breathtaking!
I was SO excited when I came across this buffet! I knew I had to act quickly in order to make this mine!
This is such a pretty shade of green. The customer didn't want anything too overpowering and crazy! And I think this green was the perfect muted shade for what she was looking for. :) I painted it in Lima Green by Behr. After the base was all painted, I sanded down the top. I removed all of it's current finish and sanded down to the natural wood.
I then stained a design in the shape of a rose on the top. I used Red Mahogany by Minwax. I decided to wrap the petals over the edges.. I am SO glad that I did!
You can see here that there is a 'white wash' over the green. I did this to help mute the green color even more. I used glaze tinted with white paint. To get this look I used a paint brush to brush on the glaze then I used clean, damp paper towels to wipe away the extra glaze to blend it all together.
I love, love, love the petal wrapped edges!!
I'm pretty sure I could look at this one all day! The rose was perfect for this one! It is certainly breathtaking and a true statement piece! :)
