How to repaint a 1 piece tub and surround enclosure?

I have a 1 piece tub with surround fiberglass I think. We have repainted in the past with spray paint for tubs and paint keeps chipping off. Not sure if worth repainting (due to fumes) or just need to replace with new tub. I am an avid DYY'er but sometimes it is not worth it. Help!

I would just call around or check online at prices. .it is a chore to do and really easier to farm out to have done or buy new or if in a or close to a bigger city check used maybe a real tub not fake

I have the fake also hate it. .although I'm not a tub person

So thems my thoughts. .Hope you have a great Redo

    Good Luck

Thank You for the input. I live in a very rural area. I am not a tub person either but this is my main bathroom and I heard that you reduce your home value if it does not have a tub, plus I have Grandbabies to bathe.

Prep is the key to a long lasting job. Use Rust-Oleum tub and tile paint kit.

Thank You. Yes I have been reading about the prep being very important. Its the odor also that worries me also as my bathroom does not have a window to exhaust the fumes.

There are companies out there that come in and do laser measuring on your current tub area...then they make a covering that slips right over what you have...nothing is torn out, this just fits over the existing tub. I have tried to find it online, but could not.

The Rust- Oleum Paint kits do have an odor but it can't be as bad spray paint. It is epoxy based but roll's on. Opening other windows and a fan in the doorway would help.

There is a paint 3V3 especially for tubs. But you need not to use the tub for 8 days to let it dry. You can find it on amazon even if it's a french product...
