Is it ok to paint discolored grout on kitchen floor?

We have 18” tile and the grout that was white is now, at best, yellowed. Bleaching and scrubbing doesn’t last. If painting is a good idea, what paint should I use (durability is important)? Type? Glossy? Nr of coats? Thank you. Karen Squires, Westerville, Ohio

Regular acrylic paint does the trick. Done with a thin paintbrush go over all your grout lines. Granted if painted in white, it will change color in time. So why not paint the grout lines either grey or beige depending on the color of the tiles so they match up. Sky is the limit when it comes to color. I even painted the grout lines of my bathroom tiles on wall of shower. Probably won't last forever, but better than removing all the tiles and putting in new ones again. Saves on money in the end. Good luck.

There is actually a paint made especially for grout. They usually come in a pen type applicator. Check your local hardware stores.

YES! I have painted all the grout in the tiles in the main part of my home using a product called Grout Renew, which I purchased at Home Depot and is formulated precisely for painting grout. I applied it with a small paintbrush and kept a damp rag handy to wipe the excess off the tiles.
